Workshop Overview

Are you a Registered Migration Agent looking to expand your expertise into NZ immigration? Did you know that an Australian registered migration agent can apply to become a NZ licensed immigration adviser without any further qualfications ? This comprehensive full-day workshop is tailored specifically for Australian registered migration agents to gain in-depth knowledge about the NZ immigration sector and its key visa types. Discussions will include the differences and similarities between the Australian and NZ immigration systems.

Importantly, NZ has an active investment visa that is comparable to the former Australian Significant Investor Visa, with more flexibility and benefits. This presents a unique opportunity to support your clients with an available investment migration option.

This workshop will provide you with the tools and insights to navigate NZ’s immigration system confidently. It is designed by an experienced Registered Migration Agent (RMA) and Licensed Immigration Adviser who has spent decades working in both Australia and New Zealand immigration.

Why Attend?

  • Gain a detailed understanding of the NZ immigration system, including laws, policies, and codes of conduct.
  • Learn about key visa types, conditions, and processes.
  • Enhance your ability to advise clients on employer, skilled, and family immigration options.
  • Australia has no business or investment immigration. NZ does, in fact the NZ Active Investor Plus visa is fast becoming a more desirable option compared to the former Australian Significant Investor Visa (SIV)
  • Understand critical differences, such as NZ's residence visa system including "true" permanent residence (not available in Australia).
  • Network with other professionals and receive direct guidance from an industry expert.
  • Understand how to obtain your NZ Immigration license

To my knowledge, there have been no other comprehensive workshops specifically designed for Australian registered migration agents to practice NZ immigration.

A certificate of completion and a letter will be issued upon completion of the workshop confirming attendance and the requirements for NZ CPD recognition are met. This will cover 6 of the required 20 hours of NZ CPD activities by IAA per year.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to enhance your professional expertise and expand your services.

About the Presenter

James Hall is an experienced Registered Migration Agent and Licensed Immigration Adviser with an impressive career spanning two decades. Since 2004, he has been registered as a migration agent in Australia, and since 2008, he has been licensed in New Zealand. His extensive experience encompasses working in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, providing invaluable expertise in skilled migration, employment visas, family migration, and business and investment visas, and managed more than 5,000 visa applications.

As an advocate for immigration professionals, James sucessfully challenged the Australian Migration Agent's Registration Authority (MARA) in 2013 to allow NZ provisional license holders to obtain registration as a migration agent in Australia (previously this was refused). Later, James supported a similar challenge to the IAA to allow Australian registered migration agents to obtain full NZ immigration licenses (previously limited to provisional licenses) and as a result Australian registered migration agents are now entitled a full NZ immigration license.

James has a passion for teaching and mentoring within the immigration sector. He has developed and delivered professional development programs for Australian Registered Migration Agents and New Zealand Licensed Immigration Advisers. His work includes teaching Australian agents how to practice New Zealand immigration and vice versa. He has also written case studies for the Australian Capstone Exam, a critical component for aspiring Australian RMAs seeking registration after completing the postgraduate immigration law qualification.

Currently based in Singapore, James supervises a team of New Zealand Licensed Immigration Advisers and Australian RMAs. His commitment to advancing the skills and knowledge of professionals in the migration industry has made him a trusted authority and leader in the field. His workshops are designed to provide practical, actionable insights drawn from his extensive experience and dedication to excellence.
